Sponge Zero - Episode 427
“We were the first group to debut as an idol rock band, and there was a lot of criticism. ‘The amp cord isn’t even plugged in… the amp isn’t even on…’ we were told that. I honestly can’t say that we’re a great band. But we play our own music, we’re finding our own style, and we write our own songs. We write music.” — Lee Hongki.
“The instruments aren’t even plugged in”; “they’re only popular for their good looks”; “they lack talent”; “they aren’t true musicians”; “they can’t even play live” — many people use these to claim that FTISLAND isn’t a true band - but they are. Like Hongki said, they aren’t the greatest rock band ever. They’re far from that. But they’re finding their own style, they’re creating their own music, and they’re all equally as passionate about the songs they write and compose. They’ve gone through a lot for being an idol rock band, but they’ve been trying their hardest for the past five years. Nothing can hold FTISLAND down from doing what they love. They’ve won first place awards, they’ve built a stable fan base, and they play their own music the way they want to play it. ❤ Primadonnas care how hard you try. Primadonnas care how loud you cry.
